Lockdown

Lockdown - Locked-down on the surface of myself

Adrift with purpose lost

To the functions of Motherhood in Homeschooling -

A role, I resist -

It's 'not-Me'!

Lockdown - pushing against resistance to

Deeper waves of Being

Rising against the surface of "I"  -

I am Mother, Teacher, Cleaner,

Cook, Driver, Cup-of-Tea-maker...

Lockdown - Acceptance of Waves resisting the

Me's of Shadow-Self

Who am I during Covid-19?

What is the Self that will

Emerge after lockdown?

Lockdown - Locked-down with my-Self

An Essence stirs

The depth of Being calls

To rise the downbeat of lockdown

in optimistic renewal

My daughter strums her forlorn guitar

And I, sit up, deep-listening,

Catching a soft Beauty in the

Strummed height of a saddened guitar

Longing for its Band

Hopeful for return

After lockdown
